During the third quarter of 2023, the top five News and Magazines applications on the Android platform in Brazil exhibited a range of performance trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Data from Sensor Tower reveals these insights.

Notícias Locais from NEWSDELIVER LIMITED saw a notable increase in both downloads and revenue. Weekly downloads peaked at approximately 167K in the week of August 21, while revenue reached a high of around $61 in the same period. Active users also showed consistent growth, reaching a peak of nearly 338K by the end of August.

Opera News: breaking & local from Opera maintained a steady download rate, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 45K and 65K. Active users remained stable, peaking at about 416K in mid-September. However, the app did not generate revenue during this period.

G1 Portal de Notícias da Globo, developed by Globo Comunicação e Participações S.A., showed consistent download numbers, with a peak of approximately 43K in mid-August. Active users were relatively stable, reaching around 642K by the end of September.

Local News - Latest & Smart from EASE Group experienced a significant drop in downloads mid-quarter, falling from 48K in mid-July to just over 4.6K by the end of September. Active users also saw a decline, peaking at around 371K in mid-August before dropping to approximately 253K by the end of the quarter.

Lastly, Twitter Lite from X Corp. had fluctuating download numbers, with a significant spike to nearly 58K in late August. Active users peaked at approximately 406K at the beginning of the quarter but gradually declined to around 147K by the end of September.
